Mike Sgier is a comic artist and illustrator living in Philadelphia, PA. He was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, spent a number of years in Omaha, Nebraska, and went to graduate school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He received his BFA in Printmaking from Creighton University, and received his MFA in Visual Studies from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. His work utilizes the unique storytelling elements of comics and cartooning, and applies both traditional and digital media to create original worlds and characters.

Mike's work has appeared in publications such as the Philadelphia City Paper, Suspect Device, City Pages, Secret Prison, Super Fantastica Comix, and Big Funny. His personal work includes the webcomic Supernova Lullaby, which explores the misadventures of aliens in a distant galaxy, and the ongoing series The Ballad of Toby & Sara, a story that mixes music, romance, and supernatural mysteries in a present-day setting.
